Here’s a challenge to check off your bucket list in aid of ISPCC Childline!
Make your New Year’s Resolution to take on the Dublin Marathon 2021, set to take place on October 2021.
The ISPCC is calling upon runners across the country and beyond to step up for children and young people in Ireland by going the extra mile in the Dublin Marathon in aid of Childline.
The national child protection charity is asking supporters to have their runners at the ready, don the distinctive red Childline t-shirt and join team Childline on the day, to help raise much-needed funds. Childline relies on corporate and public support for over 90 per cent of its funding.
Childline receives over 800 contacts each day, via its call, text and web chat services, from children and young people who often feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children contact Childline for many reasons – they may be experiencing bullying, feel lonely or anxious or may just want to talk something through. Childline volunteers and staff are there to listen to them, to inform and to empower them.
No experience is necessary, but a lot of training and preparation may be required.
Over 18’s only / no experience necessary. Places are limited; Fundraising Target: €1,000 (incl. €200 non-refundable deposit) is required of all participants. All proceeds raised will go directly to supporting ISPCC Childline.
